Turbo Awesome

Last night I was at the Hardwood Hills weekly mtb series, and I was quite surprised with how many people complained to me about my lack of updates on here. I honestly thought my mom and Watson were the only two who bothered to read this, but since there are at least 4 other readers,  I guess I'll keep it up to date.

So why was I at a mtb race you ask? Well since my road season is on the downswing I figured that, since I’m down here in Goodder Toronto Area, I might as well have some fun and go back to my mountain bike roots. I borrowed the bike off my dad, who happend to be borrowing it off the owner of C-Path in Tbay. Since I hadn't  ridden a 29er before I decided it would be best to have a go on her at race speed and see how both the bike, and myself, would make out.  Gnarly was the course of choice,  and after 40min of smashing into trees and missing trail signs I was rewarded with a nice t-shirt and some free canoe information pamphlets. Got attacked by Starbuck after the race, such a vicious dog, definitaly shouldn't be in public. after receiving treatment i caught up with a few old mates then hit the road for Port Hope, my home base til Sunday.

So this weekend is the Ontario mountain bike championships of the world, not too sure what to expect, anything other than last/getting lapped would be nice.  If I manage a top 20 I’ll be happy but I‘ll likely be the last call-up, meaning I’ll get to wait at back of the bottleneck when the race hits the first singletrack.  Either way I’m looking forward to a nice, no stress race before heading back to the North Pole for year 2 of rockology.

“are the chips free, or…?”
